How AI Compass handles your data, what Google Ad Manager and AdX collect, and how to control advertising cookies.
This policy explains how AI Compass ("we", "us") handles information about visitors to urdupoetry.top. We have tried to write it in the same plain English as the rest of the site.
The API cost calculator, token estimator and subscription vs API comparison are written entirely in client-side JavaScript. The text and numbers you enter are processed on your own device to produce a result and are never transmitted to us and never stored on any server. The AI tool picker saves your three answers in your browser's own local storage so it can carry them between steps; that data stays on your device, is not readable by us, and is cleared when you choose "start over" or clear your browsing data.
Like most websites, our hosting and analytics collect standard technical information when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and the referring page. We use it to understand which guides are useful and to keep the site working. We use Google Analytics 4 for this; it sets cookies or similar identifiers, and where required we only load it after you consent.
This site is free to read and is funded by display advertising delivered through Google Ad Manager (including Google AdX and other demand sources connected to it) using the Google Publisher Tag. To make that work, Google and its advertising partners may:

You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google at Google Ads Settings, and from many other vendors at optout.aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu. Google explains its own practices at how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google's policies require us to obtain your consent before advertising and analytics cookies are set, and to record that choice. We use a Google-certified Consent Management Platform operating under the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF v2.2) to do this. The consent banner lets you accept all, reject all, or choose specific purposes and vendors, and rejecting is as easy as accepting.
Your choice is stored so you are not asked repeatedly. You can change or withdraw it at any time through the privacy or consent link in the site footer, or by clearing this site's cookies in your browser. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place while consent was in force. Where we rely on consent, that is our legal basis under the GDPR; where we rely on legitimate interests (for example, basic security and fraud prevention), you may object.
UK/EU (GDPR): you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You may also complain to your national data protection authority.
California (CCPA/CPRA): you may request access to or deletion of personal information, request its correction, and opt out of its "sale" or "sharing". We do not sell personal information for money, but the use of advertising cookies may constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law. Use the opt-out links above or contact us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking advertising cookies does not stop you reading the site; you will simply see less relevant ads.
We do not operate a user database. Analytics data is retained according to the retention period set in our Google Analytics property. Google and its advertising partners are independent controllers for the data they collect and set their own retention periods; their processing may involve transfers outside your country under safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to deal with them.
This site is intended for a general adult audience. It is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.
